THE JUNIOR ECONOMIC CLUB OF
NEW YORK CITY
SPARKING AND FACILITATING NYC’S FUTURE
The Junior Economic Club brings together the best and talented high school students in New York City to an unparalleled ecosystem of discussion, exposure and leadership. We invest in New York City’s future by allowing students to understand and solve real-world economic problems in both the public and private sectors. By giving these students a head start, we are nurturing more effective, experienced, and responsible leaders, thereby helping NYC reach a prosperous future for generations to come.
Our Story
The Junior Economic Club of New York City was founded by Eileen Ye, a student at The Brearley School, and a group of like-minded determined high school students all across the city in 2020. During the COVID-19 pandemic that devastated the city, she saw the need to develop an organization that teaches students to be the leaders of tomorrow. New York City is the business capital of the country and arguably the world. With one of the most rapidly developing economies, populations, and cultures, it was the perfect opportunity to work towards educating and motivating future leaders. The Junior Economic Club of New York City will make an investment in the city’s future. Members, mentors, and sponsors will cultivate a generation of effective business leaders through economic and financial literacy.
